Calling Europe’s business talent

LONDON - The European Business Awards, Europe’s toughest business competition, is now open for entries from businesses across the EU. The Awards, sponsored by HSBC Commercial Banking, is now in its 5th year and deadline for entries is noon (GMT) 14th April 2011 for Phase 1 countries and noon (GMT) 23rd June for Phase 2 countries (see www.businessawardseurope.com for details).

In 2010 the Awards engaged with over 15,000 companies and had entries from a diverse group of businesses, ranging from fish farming to renewable energy and light aircraft to skincare, with a combined turnover greater than €766 billion Euros (6% of EU GDP) and employers of over 3.5 million people.

Due to the quality of the entrants and the rigor of the judging process, only the crème de la crème are selected to become Country Representatives. Finalists receive a Ruban d’Honneur in each of the Awards’ ten categories and overall winners earn themselves a prestigious European Business Award, the ultimate honour in European business. The winners of the European Business Awards will be revealed at a premier European location in November 2011 before an audience of hundreds of Europe’s senior figures in politics, business and the media.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards says, “The European Business Awards provide dynamic and forward thinking businesses a platform to showcase their achievements and share their success with other like- minded companies. Now, more than ever we need to consider how the European economy trades globally and we need brave enterprising European businesses who invest in innovation and excellence to lead the way. This is an opportunity for Europe’s brightest businesses to gain the recognition they deserve on a global stage.”

Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM International says “RSM International is proud to partner with the European Business Awards for the fifth consecutive year. Our association with these awards is testament to RSM’s commitment to recognizing companies that share our own values of business excellence, high quality services, ambitious growth objectives, and a strong emphasis on always putting the client first. Enterprising businesses that have been successful despite an unstable European economy deserve full recognition and the EBA provides that platform. “

BG Srinivas, SVP, and Member of Executive Council, Infosys, added: “The European Business Awards recognise companies which have innovatively developed business models, products and services and made a significant impact in the marketplace. The EBA awards provide a great opportunity for European businesses to showcase their achievements and get recognition. EBA is also a great platform to share best practices and increased collaboration between businesses for building a better tomorrow.”
