MACIEJ GRABOWSKI

President, Centre for Strategic Mind-set

Maciej H.Grabowski, President of Centre for Strategic Mind-set since 2016, a NGO organization, which aims to merge innovative thinking with implementation activities.

Between November 2013 and November 2015 Mr Grabowski was Minister of Environment to the Republic of Poland. He was in charge of creation and implementation of national environmental and climate policies, including Strategic Adaptation Plan to Climate Change and National Air Protection Programme.

Prior to taking this post, Mr Grabowski served as undersecretary of State in Ministry of Finance for five years. His portfolio included domestic tax policies as well as international tax agreements and conventions and temporary debt management and financial markets. He successfully promoted environmental taxes, such as copper and silver tax, and timber fee.

An economist, and navigator by education Mr Grabowski is currently organizer of The European Financial Congress, a major annual event of such kind in this part of Europe. Moreover he was a teacher of economic transformation at the Gdansk University. He also holds a PhD in Economics from this university.
