With a background in mathematics and a degree in Business Administration, Andris Ozols became an entrepreneur as soon as the first business opportunities arose with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Mr Ozols has a diverse and successful business experience, working at first in the transport and logistics sector in his native Latvia and in Germany, before founding his own architecture and design company in Latvia. In 2004, he became Director of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), a government agency with the main mandate of attracting foreign direct investments to Latvia and increasing the export competitiveness of Latvian companies abroad. His dynamic leadership style has revitalised the activities of the LIAA and brought increasing recognition to Latvia. Mr Ozols is a member of the Latvian Seaport Council.
