MARY MALCOLM

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), University of Bedfordshire

Professor Mary Malcolm is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Bedfordshire, where she has responsibility for the academic portfolio, teaching and learning, and research and enterprise.  She also has strategic oversight of the University’s newest campus, in Milton Keynes, where the University is taking forward its enterprise agenda to support SME growth building on its reputation as one of the top twenty UK universities for graduate start-up (Witty Report 2013).

Before joining Bedfordshire in 2009, Mary was Vice-Principal (Academic Development) at Abertay University, and prior to that she led Abertay’s Business School and its international collaborations. Her earlier career included a decade abroad, and during her time in the Middle East she established and led successfully a range of small businesses in retail and service sectors. 

She holds a PhD from Leeds University, and an MBA from Durham University.  She is a member of the RSA and of the Institute of Directors.
