SPECIAL FEATURES SERIES: MACEDONIAN THRACE BREWERY

In this case study, we take a look at the 2011 Ruban d’Honneur recipient for Entrepreneur of the year award: Macedonian Thrace Brewery who was the first brewer to produce Greek beer and by doing so changed the beer-culture in the country. Demetri Politopoulos could not understand why Greece relied on multi-national breweries to quench its thirst for beers and why the country did not have its own national brewing company. He created The Macedonian Thrace Brewery in 1996 and since then the company has created hundreds of new jobs and posted a near 40% sales growth in the past year.
