PIETER TASELAAR

Pieter is the General Counsel of Ecorys, a global research and consultancy firm specialized in economic, social and spatial development for both the public and the private sector. Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands Ecorys is active in over 120 countries.

After graduating from Erasmus University School of Law in Rotterdam and a post-masters in corporate law at Radboud University in Nijmegen he worked as a legal consultant before joining a global surveyor company. Since 1997 Pieter is working for the Netherlands Economic Institute (NEI) and its successor Ecorys in different roles and positions. As managing partner he was member of the Board of Directors of Ecorys’ operating company in The Netherlands before he joined the Ecorys Group’s Board of Management in 2012. From 2006 to 2008 Pieter also served as a judge in the district court of Breda, The Netherlands.
