DIRK HEILMANN

Chief Economist, Handelsblatt

Dirk Heilmann joined newspaper Handelsblatt in 1998 and was appointed Chief Economist in August 2009.

He was appointed Managing Partner of the Handelsblatt Research Institute, Düsseldorf in January 2013. 

Dirk headed the enterprise and markets sections before working as Office Manager for the newspaper’s London base from 2005-2009.

Dirk, with the former head of economic experts, Professor Dr. Bert Rürup, was co-author of the 2012 Economic bestseller "Fat Years. Why Germany has released a bright future".
