José Luis Rodríguez

Mr Rodríguez serves as President of Nueva Economía Fórum and Director of the Circle of Trust and the Europe Forum. He is also a Member of the Council of Radio Televisión Española.

Previous to his position at Nueva Economía Fórum, Mr Rodríguez was Professor of Information Business at the Complutense University in Madrid, Director of Marketing and Institutional Relations at Arthur Andersen, Director of Confederación Española de la Pequeña y Mediana Empresa – CEPYME (Spanish Confederation of Small- and Medium-size Businesses) and Director of the daily newspaper “LA OPINIÓN DE MURCIA”.

Mr Rodríguez completed his Masters in General Business Management at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa – IESE (Higher Education Business Institute), from the University of Navarra, and his PhD in Journalisme at the Complutense University in Madrid (Awarded with distinction Cum Laude unanimously).

On 22 August 1994 he was appointed Prime Minister and Minister of General Affairs in the first government that bore his name. On 3 August 1998 he was again appointed Prime Minister and Minister of General Affairs. On 22 July 2002 he was succeeded by Jan Peter Balkenende.
