Claire Dorland-Clauzel
After earning a master’s degree in history and a doctorate in geography, Claire Dorland-Clauzel entered France’s Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA, France’s national school of public administration) in 1988. After graduating from ENA, Claire Dorland-Clauzel began her professional career with the Treasury Department of the French Ministry of Finance, where she was head of foreign investments in France (1988-1990) and then deputy director of the banking sector (1990 – 1992).
In 1992, Claire Dorland-Clauzel began working as deputy chief financial officer for the Usinor‑Sacilor group, before returning to the Treasury in 1995 to serve as head of cabinet minister for the Director.
From October of 1995 until June of 1997, Claire Dorland-Clauzel served as technical advisor to Jean Arthuis, then France’s minister of the economy and finance, and to Yves Galland, who held ministerial portfolios in finance and trade and oversaw monetary and financial affairs.
In July of 1997, she was appointed head of the Treasury’s offices of Life, Health and Savings Insurance and Property and Casualty Insurance.
In March of 1998, Claire Dorland-Clauzel was hired by the AXA Group to head the Audit and Control department of AXA France.
In January of 2000, she was appointed head of Support Functions for AXA France, and also served as head of purchasing, corporate operating real estate assets and logistics.
In 2002, Claire Dorland-Clauzel was named chief executive officer of AXA France Supports and member of AXA France executive committee.
In May of 2003, Claire Dorland-Clauzel was appointed Senior Executive Vice-President Communications, Brand and Sustainable Development for the AXA Group.
