Founding Partners CMS Legal Services EEIG and SOCIETE GENERALE extend European Business Awards support

Founding partners of the European Business Awards, CMS Legal Services EEIG and Société Générale build upon the initial launch success by extending their sponsorship support to the 2008 Programme. Additionally, José María Aznar (former Prime Minister of Spain) joins other leading figures including Wim Kok (former Prime Minister of The Netherlands) and Jean-Paul Votron (CEO of Fortis) on the European Business Awards Advisory Panel.

The European Business Awards was set up last year to recognise and reward excellence, best practice and innovation in companies across the European Union. Extensive research and high standards of judging quickly established the European Business Awards as the showcase of Europe’s skills, achievements and innovations in the field of business.

Results from the first year exceeded all expectations. Extensive media coverage throughout Europe resulted in high levels of take up and interest across the business community, supporting the programme’s objective of promoting enterprise, innovation and business achievement across Europe.

As founder sponsorship partners and visionaries behind the programme, CMS Legal Services EEIG and Société Générale have committed to build upon this success, supporting the initiative throughout 2008.

“CMS Legal Services EEIG continues to believe in the aims of the European Business Awards. Our firms across Europe work hard each day to help our national and international clients manage profitable businesses. These awards offer a perfect opportunity for us to go one step further and celebrate the most successful and forward-thinking individuals and organisations in Europe,” says Robert Derry-Evans, CMS Executive Partner.

"Société Générale is pleased to extend its partnership of the European Business Awards this year and fully supports its mission to recognise excellence, best practice and innovation, qualities we equally uphold. We have chosen the category "Customer Focus" which we believe is the key factor of success for businesses around the world today. Through the European Business Awards, we are delighted to recognise companies who also put clients at the heart of their business,” says Bruno Bassac, Deputy Head, European Coverage.

Adrian Tripp , CEO of European Business Awards comments: “We value Société Générale and CMS - they are big, successful, clever businesses that still think entrepreneurially. They support the initiative because they believe strongly in the ideal and importance of promoting business success across Europe. We are very pleased to be extending our sponsorship agreements with these organisations.

Equally, we are pleased to welcome José María Aznar to our European Advisory Panel. Mr Aznar’s unique insight on Europe’s competitive position in the world will help shape and guide the direction and role the European Business Awards play in fostering and promoting enterprise across Europe.”
