FAQs

What is a Ruban d’Honneur?
The Ruban d’Honneur is awarded to up to ten successful entrants in each category. Judges deliberate to select which individuals and businesses are awarded the Ruban d’Honneur, and it is from the Ruban d’Honneur recipients that the final winner in each category is selected.

How do I register for the European Business Awards?
You can register on-line, via mail or fax. Email is the quickest way to ensure the Awards team respond quickly to your request for an application giving you more time to ensure your entry is as good as it can be. Click here to complete our Registration Form or call us on +44 (0) 207 234 3535.

What category should I enter?
Think carefully about your business. Is there a specific area of business you feel your company has excelled in over the last 12 months? Is there something that you are particularly proud of? Have you launched a new CSR policy or a new software or hardware system? Is there a specific area of your business that shows excellence, innovation or strong ethics?

And, of course, please remember you can enter as many categories as you like. Bear in mind however, that the judging process is hard work – so be prepared to put in the hours if you enter more than one category!

Can I enter if I am a not-for-profit organisation?
While judges look to the profit and loss sheets as a barometer of corporate success, there is no reason why a not-for-profit organisation should not enter the European Business Awards. Remember, the key things our judges look to reward are innovation, excellence and strong ethics. These three pillars of good business are equally applicable in the not-for-profit sector.

Who were the previous winners?
There can only be one overall winner in each category. View a full list of winners and Ruban d’Honneur recipients from previous years.

How are the Awards financed?

What is the European Advisory Panel?
A strategic Advisory Panel of business leaders and senior government representatives contributes to the current and long-term future objectives of the European Business Awards. Their involvement provides us with the opportunity to draw upon their collective business knowledge to further strengthen the position of the Awards programme, and ensure its viablity and significance to all participating organisations.

Why can I only enter an award in English?
Research showed that English is recognised as the prevailing and most widely understood second language in use in business across Europe. As such the entire Awards programme will be conducted in the English language. Please contact us on +44 (0) 207 234 3535 should you have any problems preparing your entry and/or presentation in English.

How long will my entry form take to complete?
The more thorough you are in preparing your entry, the longer it will take. We will happily accept additional sheets if there is insufficient space on the entry form to complete a section. Furthermore you may send in any accompanying information relevant to your entry including annual reports, marketing collateral, etc. Some sections of the entry form have a word limit; this ensures fairness and conciseness among entries.
